Im going to look at a 69 GTs dart That was born a 340 4 speed car<now an automatic.... does any one know how to tell a 340 swinger from a 340 gts? I don't have much experience in darts mostly B and E bodys..... Thanks in advance for the input!:supz:

The vin will start out "LS23" The "S" tells you it's a GTS. LM23P9B would be a Swinger 340.

The Vin should also be on the top of the radiator support.

yes I have this written down in a notebook by the desk :supz:

vin number lineup for 1969. There were no post cars for 69 and it was the debut year for "swinger"

when the vin number starts with:

LS23 = GTS
LP23 = GT
LH23 = Custom
LM23 = swinger 340
LL23 = swinger (usually slant six and cheapo trim)

yea it is , hey I use to live in bailey! deer creek valley rancho , im in Longmont now. I had a limelight superbird and a green 67 formula s 383 barracuda back then... im in Longmont now...and all I have is a 69 super bee with a stupid hemi in it...

sure is purdy. Now, since in 69 they rolled out the swinger line, what is different about a swinger and normal 2-door in 70 and on? ...or are they all the same? noob question, I know.

Yea, too bad the super bee has that dreaded hemi in it! Never hurts though to show us pictures of it!

Are you considering the GTS? What part of the state is it in?

The Swinger with the 340 was the bare bones muscle car to compete with the bare bones Road Runner.
