Picked up another Win in Pro Dial ! ( any dial / .500 pro tree ) also had a runner up a few months ago . It’s getting to the point that I now struggle on a full tree… followed up
with a runner up in my pickup in another class the following week .. on a full tree ...so much for no longer being competitive in a full tree

I've always been better on a pro-tree. It's like my brain gets bored waiting for a full tree.

Advantage Pro tree for sure. I shoot shotgun competitively and know your eyes go to the closest moving object. Plus the less thinking the better!

It will ruin you for sportsman tree. I get bored waiting on the sportsman.

I got to try that once back in the late 70s. The track operator leased several tracks and late one Saturday afternoon, he blamed his wife for forgetting to bring part of the tree. All he had was the prestage and stage lights and the bottom with one yellow, the green and red lights.
And to my delight, I was probably the only car there with a clutch. I was kicking butts until I broke out by .01 of a second in the semi final.
I wish it had been a regular thing.

Most fun I ever had racing was up at Mid mich motorplex years back.
I competed in a 4/10 pro tree 10.0 index race, and a footbrake bracket race on a full tree.Same night, it was like a 7 event points series for a few years.
Had a night where I got beat in the 10.0 final( double breakout) and got beat at 3 cars( 7th round) of the footbrake race.
I don’t thing using a brake on a pro tree has any negative impact at all on full tree racing.
If anything, reacting to a bulb consistently is good training, be it the first thing you see or the bottom bulb.

Mystery tree really helps you focus. Doesn’t usually happen during eliminations, but happens enough that I usually don’t go red when expecting a pro and getting a sportsman. Helps that I’m soft on the hit anyways.
