..I have an 8 3/4 housing with no leaf spring mounts..what is the spring pad angle compared to the housing face?
...any body have an empty housing laying around they can check for me? ( A body)
...Dr. Diff?
 
Every car will be different with all the variables, springs drive shaft length etc. Mine turned out to be 5* when I was at ride height.
Set it all up at ride height and if you snug up the u bolts you can set the u joint working angles up correctly and center the rear from side to side.
Once your happy tack weld the perches. Remove and finish welds.
Best to do it right the first time so you don't end up with vib issues etc.
 
It will depend on your eng/trans drive line angle. Even if someone else has a car similar to yours their engine angle may not be the same as yours so their rear end angle may not be what you need. When cars are still factory stock you can compare such things but once they are modified all bets are off that's why there are web sites like this:

i would like to weld the spring pads on at the correct factory angle and tuck it away for future use.
My builds are usually stock style...anybody?
