Hey Guys,
I need a little advice. I am installing new bearings on the rear axles and when I pull the axles out I notice there were no axle seales installed. The Mopar Performance set I got came with seals. I called Mopar Performance and was told by one of the techs that most people didn't use the seals they just used a bead of RTV instead. Does this sound right or should I use the seals anyway?
Thanks!

what rear you got ? you gotta use seals its not been long since i replaced mine on the 81/4 and it had a bearing kit which the seals or non replaceable i had never seen such i had to post here to find out what they was, the rtv's not gonna work

The green bearings have built in axle seals. You can put in the seals if you want to make sure you don't get a leak, it's up to you.

i was going to add that, but you beat me to it. must have more coffee.............

On an 8 3/4 rear you have inner axle seals and outter axle seals. The inner seals go into the axle housing. The outter seals have to be installed when the bearings are pressed off/on the axle. Then there is the flange gasket and most people just use RTV there.
