Rear Axle Length??????

What should the length of one of the actual axles be to fit an A Body 8 3/4? I've looked at numourous charts, but couldn't find where i actually take the measurements from. I have a b body housing (thanks Jack, i'm still looking for fittings) and what i was told were A Body axles, but i read a book saying actual A body axles didn't come with the BBP. Is that true? I also mocked up the rear end as is, and it seems to fit fine, so I think i was sold B body axles instead....I was going to get the housing cut down, but if my axles arn't going to work, then i might as well leave it alone i guess. Any thoughts?

28" and yes there are no factory big bolt a body 8.75 axles

so its clear i have NOT got a body axles, 28" from the spline to where? the flange?
