Rear end alignment in an A-body

Back halved ladder bar Dart, iv used the tranny crossmember to square the rearend but if i measure from the front leaf spring mount i get a different measurement, the car was never raced on leaf springs so im assuming the factory may be off but idk, what other points from the car have you guys used to set the rear in your cars ??

I found on my duster the front spring mounts on body to be off. almost 1/4 " a friend found same in his70 duster years ago. we shimmed the spring bracket to make them same.

Thats about the same 1/4in differance if i take a measurement from the spring mount too.
