I have a set of 275/60-15's on a set of 8 1/2 torque thrusts on the rear of my 72 duster..They look great..i must say..but sadly...with my original 30 plus (340 car) year old springs and air shocks ..looks like this current set-up is not going to work...here's where I need the help???? do I buy a set of hd"s ???? do I buy a set of superstocks???? on the super stocks i have heard of folks buying two of one side( left?) to compensate for stance??? I need the rear 1-2 inches over stock to keep the tires from rubbing....IS THIS POSSIBLE?????? any suggestions welcomed... thanx....:read2:

I wouldn't raise the rear just to fit some tire. How much are we talking about? How much faster can the car be compared to a 255/60-15 on an 8" rim? If you already have them, I guess this isn't very helpful. As for the stance, that is compensated by with a torsion bar adjustment. Just get a left and right, not 2 lefts, if traction is your concern, that is. When installed, raising the front left will lower the rear right, and force that tire against the ground more than the left, compensating for the right lifting from the engine's torque and spinning that tire.

I have a 67 cuda that I had to use the offset hangers and shackles to get that exact same tire and wheel you have under the car. Not the hangers and shackles that relocates the hangers to the frame rail but the others that require no welding except on the perches. You can get them at Summit. Before I had 1/2" between the leaf and the small 14" tire.

Here are some pics with the 275/60/15 after the offset hanger and shackle installation.

I don't know if this helps any but just a option you can use to make sure you have plenty of room if you are going to be changing out the leafs anyway.

I would make sure the leafs are the same number on each side of the car..... your on the right track.
