Are the rear main seal retainers for the big blocks and slant sixes the same? I think maybe they are since they take the same part number rear seals. Thank you drive through.

Nope. They both use the same seal, but the way they seal to the block is different. If you notice, in the seal package, there is the seal, then there are two "wedge" pieces, for the big block, and two "L" shaped rubber pieces for the slant six.
Gotchya. I wonder if there is any way to mod the big block to fit?
I think I have an old big block one I’ll send you if you want to experiment

To have a seal retainer. The big block ones are available new. Slant 6, no. In cases where one is missing......

Good point. I have more slant engine/parts then seal retainers. I don't have a big block retainer to look at, and see if it might be feasible
