Rear seat belt buckle clips, interior color?

Are the rear seat buckle clips supposed to be the same color as the vinyl? If so, how does herbs interior dye hold up to the buckle sliding on and off?

The ones I've seen are, but haven't looked at enough to say if that was true for all years.
