Rear seat installation

When installing the rear seat in 74 Dart, is there a right and wrong way to do it? ie. seat back in first,...squab in last or vice versa? I have installed the seatback first and am having trouble getting the squab to push back far enough to engage with the 2 floor locking brackets.

I assume it is like the 67s. Seat back has 2 bolts to hold it in then the bottom just is pushed back under it till the tangs on the floor hook the rods on the seat.

A push back and Slamming motion typically works for mine

You might loosen the 2 bolts enough to lift the back a little. Install the bottom and push the back down into place. My 67 notch doesn't even have bolts down there. Just 2 sheet metal tangs to bend. The back can move up and down.

Pretty sure you will have this style bracket like my 75. Be sure that you get into it and are not overshooting and coming down on the back of it.
