Rear View Mirror Screws

Can't for the life of me figure out what screws to use. Are they metal or machine?? For a 65 valiant convert

chrome/stainless metal screws-- approx 1" long --match up the head to you hole in the mirror base & have at it. Lawrence

A little late now but I use stainless steel screws. The little bit of rust from where the screwdriver goes in the screw drives me crazy.
