Rearend width

No. But the 7.25 came in the widths. Sbp is smaller than the bbp.

Exactly how wide it is I do not know. But it is a direct bolt in job. Now if you have an a body 8.25 rear go to the junk yard and find a 96 or olde jeep GC and pull the gears and sure grip unit as well as the rear disc brake setup. Then bolt it all to the a body 8.25 rear. Boom now you have an 8.25 a body rear with a descent set of gears (say 3.55) with a suregrip and rear disc brake for very little cash!

Oh yeah you'll need a shorter length driveshaft.

I kind of remember a difference in width between the 71/4 diffs with9 and 10 in drums. Didn't the 10 inch drum face sit out 2 1/2" from the flange the same as the 8 3/4 diff . And the 9" were 2" out.
The numbers I have written down are 56.5 (drum face to face) for the A body 8 3/4 and 58 1/8 for the sbc 7 1/4.
the late Duster 7 1/4 was narrower.
