Looking for a RED 340 pie tin for a reasonable price (is there such a thing?) preferably in good to excellent condition. What's out there??

Saw a very nice used one at Carlisle for $300 and it sold at some point. Also saw some in the $800 price range. Yes I know, eight hundred ??? Yes $800. Still there, no sale. As crazy at it might be they are fetching $300 to $500 depending on colour, c.i. displacement , etc.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I thought it was just the orange that was crazy expensive. Damn
I guess I could offer my orange one for trade, but it's perfect.

I believe the orange 340 four barrel (orange) and 440 magnum (orange and red) are the hardest to find which = expensive.

Like I said you have to get there early on a Wednesday before the other vendors grab all the parts to resell at a profit. The early bird vendors control the prices . I didn't need the red but someone I know does . Got it this morning. They were asking $70 My friend bundled it for $50 . I think he gets there so early he helps park and gives them a hand setting up LOL.

His advice is if they have a smart phone move on. Syracuse is coming up

Was told you need to find them setting up. I usually would come there early with a golf cart. I never found the deals. The guy Steve met a couple years ago goes with a empty truck and comes home full on Friday night . He owns a restoration shop in south Jersey. Steve does his machine work. He usually stocks inventory for his shop from the big vendors. Ford, GM, and Chryslers.

Now, I have parts delivered and picked up by several sellers and members. Beats walking in the heat. Whats that old saying " let your fingers do the walking" It was 2 . One of each. Orange one had a wing nut on it already.

I believe it is a licensing thing that they are not being reproduced
You're probably right. The dies for the metal pie tin part exists in Taiwan, and they are all the same size regardless of the engine callout screening. I've talked to several of the big name vendors about it and all But Ted Stephens just looked at me like I had 2 heads. Ted said he would talk to the folks at AMD about it, but to be honest, I have forgotten to ask about it again the last few times I've seen him. It could be a money maker for whoever makes it happen. I'm just glad I have an orange 340 NOS tin stashed back for my A66 70 Challenger!
