YUP!!! and good luck SEEING one, they were typically on the ground, in with some dirt/ etc that had been disturbed, and you would not see them until it was (darn near) too late.

A dark, rainy night did not help, either

I would guess they used diesel, dark, smokey, orange flame, worthless
