Sand and repainting some spots. Seem tough to find any info on how to remove this thing. Saw the backside of a rusted out one on eBay and looks like it could be bolted on?

Hoping I don’t have to take out a headliner to get at this. Can lift a flap a bit but don’t want to start pulling at it h less I need to.

Damn, that explains the cuts and adhesive there. Oh well, guess that makes it easier to get to.
You can modify it with some plastic doodads similar to drywall drywall screw anchors so the emblems just pop on and off. Or you could use double sided tape.

I believe that you can reach the speed nuts on your back in the trunk, above the wheel well. The vinyl top trim in my 70 Dart is in about the same place and there were even holes in the trunk hinge support that made getting to the most difficult ones easier. it ain't easy but surely better than butchering the headliner...

Now, I hadn't thought of that. It's entirely possible. Vixen is less than 50 feet from me too. But I'm too lazy to check right now. Might do it tomorrow. lol.

Was able to get them off with some car crawl gymnastics. Turns out I needed both methods. Two nuts accessible from the headliner. One only from the trunk.

Also found a mummified mouse in the insulation…probably not a crucial part so I will not be replacing that.
