Removing a Holley "slide out" choke plate

It seems that the older Holleys have screws that can be removed. This one im working on has the plate sandwiched in the shaft.. I tapped on the shaft but it movies very little
Its not moving enough to bind the linkage rod/tab..
Ideas ?

I pulled mine out with a pair of vice grips. Came out pretty easily.

I use one of these and flatten the lower indention retainer before removing. If you need to reinstall it, it can be knocked back into shape with a chisel over a vice opened the width of the tang. It will tap back in from there.
