removing buttons from 742 sg

k guys how is it done? Do I need to pull the pumpkin apart too do it?

You need to pull out the 3rd member but you don't have to disassemble it. Their right in the middle and you use a long punch to drive out the retaining pin.

I believe he's referring to the axle thrust buttons.

yep I have a set of mosers with green bearings and I have heard that you need to remove the thrust buttons. I did how ever bolt the rear together and everything went into place like it should with the buttons in place so I am not going to worry about them. I also talked to the guy I got the axles and housing from and this is what he said he did with out any problems.

It all depends on how long they cut them. They can cut them long if you have no thrust buttons or cut them shorter if you do. As long as they pulled in all the way I wouldn't worry about it either.
