Hi all, I’ve just been replacing the wheels on my Barracuda. The leaf springs are pretty much flat with no arch, you can see even a 235/60r15 is sitting at the top of the arch. I’d like to replace them and get about 1.5” over the current height, but have no way of knowing wether that would be achieved with a factory height spring or wether I’d need a higher spring, I don’t want to end up too high. I won’t be using this car for track at all, in fact my priority is ride and handling for road trips.

It would to hear peoples thoughts on the various spring options out there. Oh yeah the other issue is I’m not in the states, so trying different options wouldn’t really be an option, I am considering wether to get a set made up by a specialist here in the UK.

Not being in the USA I would look for a local spring shop. Most know spring rates and the + or - factor as far as the height/stance you want . They even may know what is best for handling .

So I know people have different opinions on the Mopar springs in terms of quality, but if I were looking at that option, I guess if I put on the SS springs 002/003 then the back is gonna sit up a lot and also uneven side to side. If I wanted to keep the height lower would the standard springs 0863/0864 be a better choice, my concern being they are rated at 2800lbs? Also if I wanted to avoid the size to side height difference could I run the same spring on both sides of the car and which one is the stronger / weaker spring, it’s really hard to find any of this from the parts specs.

My 72 Is currently on the ESPO +1” with 28” tires. The front torsion bars have not been adjusted fully.

This might give you a reference.

If you are looking for a specific stance, you really need to locate a local company who can “re-arch” your existing springs.

Or as others have mentioned add an extra leaf or helper.

Here is a homegrown video on adding a leaf

That looks like quite a lift at the back I guess also due to the tyre height. I’m going to contact a few companies here in the UK, I’ve also dropped ESPO a line to see what their thoughts are. Cheers.
