Replacing Factory Shroud 1972 Dart

My recently purchased 72 Dart Swinger with factory air does not a a fan shroud. I purchased a new one and need to install it.
Can it be installed with the fan and radiator in place or do I have to remove the radiator and/or the fan.

remove the fan, lay the shroud back against the engine, reinstall the fan, bolt down the shroud

With using a clutch fan remove the fan install the shroud and then install the fan.

I hope you know to protect the radiator with a large sheet of cardboard first. The slightest wrench bump against the core can cause a pinhole in a tube.
