resonators purpose

I have finally decided to put the 273 Hi-po muffler from Casic industries on the Cuda. Can anyone tell me what sound and performance benefits the resonator provides. I don't especially care for the look of the resonator and would do without it if the is no great sound difference.

"Some systems" especially those with very long tailpipes, and ESPECIALLY with fairly free flowing "main" mufflers, can develop a rather irritating echoy, "pipy" raspy sound from the long pipes. Resonators can take the edge off. This is not so much an issue with the fairly short pipes on an A.

They take away that annoying drone that you get with some hp mufflers. You could skip them...then if you experience that droning sound, install them then.
