Does anyone have experience in re-installing an AM radio back into a dash that's been cut out to accommodate an aftermarket unit? I would imagine that some type of bracket or other support needs to be added to hold it in the correct position, but I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel.

On the same subject, how do you access the top-of-dash speaker to replace/repair it?

This is in a '66 Barracuda, BTW.

Thanks.

Steve

The speaker is accessible from reaching up under the dash. I believe it's held in by 2 or 4 nuts. It has to come out from underneath.

As for the radio, I've got an uncut bezel from a 66 Valiant Signet I could sell you. Let me know.

I bought an (new) older non DIN stereo that still had shafts on it. I cut the bar out of the original AM bezel and filed it so it would fit around the new head unit. I even used the same old knobs. I cant remember if its still in there though. The "new" radio crapped out about 10 years ago!
