Anyone have ride tech rear coilovers ? Mine are new and when i hit a pot hole or pump it hits hard. Its as if they are bottoming out. Mine have the single adjustment knob. It doesnt matter where i adjust it it doesnt make a difference. I have the RMS rear suspension

It is my understanding that adjustable shocks use fluid moving through valving instead of the traditional fluid on one side and nitrogen on the other side style of shock and they do tend to ride stiffer, I had the same reaction when I put adjustable shocks on my Scamp.

Do you have any bump stops set up? Have you checked to see if the bump stops on the frame contact the axle before the coil overs bottom out?

It could certainly be that the springs are too soft, and then you’ll have to figure out a way to see if you’re actually bottoming the coil over out.

Of course it could also be that the springs are really stiff, which would also cause the car too hit hard because the rear axle isn’t traveling enough to absorb the bumps.

Stick a go-pro camera under the car.

That would definitely be one way to do it! If you’ve got a go-pro handy that would tell you a lot.

Another way is to put a zip tie on the shaft of the coil over. Nice and tight but not crazy. Then when the coil overs travel they push the zip tie up and after the drive you can see what the maximum travel was.
