I just read that Montreal Canadiens goalie Ken Dryden passed away at 78. That is only 7 years older than me. I can still picture him leaning on his goalie stick when the play was at the other end of the ice.

So sad.
I really looked up to him when I was young even though I wasn't a Montreal Canadiens fan.
I think that I still have his rookie card...
Rest in peace Mr. Dryden, you will be missed.

I played goal all my life so he was certainly a guy I looked up to as one of the best of his era. I was a Toronto fan way back (there was no NHL in Edmonton and I lived out East for a few years as a kid) so my favorites in the early '70s were Toronto goaltenders like Palmateer and Thomas back then. lol

I was also a goalie.
