RIP Ozzy Osborne

When I saw Montrose at Kiel it was the first album, introducing Sammy Haggar. Bad motor scooter. Space station #5. Sammie best.

That's a great album it was the first that Tony Iommi detuned the guitar to drop C sharp etc. First two albums were standard tuning but still great IMO.

I first heard Sabbath in the 7th grade(2002) there was this guy who sat behind me who I thought was a nerd. One day he tells me hey you like AC/DC you’ll probably like Black Sabbath. He let me listen to it on is CD player in class.

At first I was like what the heck is this, it was so eerie and evil. In my head I said not for me. Then I went home and wanted to listen to it more and more. Instantly was hooked ever since. Even my grandmother liked Sabbath her favorite song was fairy’s wear boots.

I was a bit backwards heard Ozzy first Blizzard/Diary albums in the early 80s maybe 82/83 ish then later realized he was in sabbath and that opened another door. I saw Ozzy in 86 with Metallica opening and I took my son to see Sabbath in 2013.

The local rock station KSHE95 Used to promote concerts and up and coming bands there. I remember seeing Montrose, Framptons Camel. Humble Pie, James Gang others I can't remember for $3.95 a ticket !
In the early 70's while in high school we saw Sabbath a a few times at the Spectrum in Philadelphia and like you say Al, tickets where like $4-5. An older buddy had a van and we would pile into with our wineskins, a few joints and have a blast. So many great bands played there, usually on a school nite too.
He had to go out happy, his last show was like a grand wake before dying.

Went to see iron maiden in 86 in a window van. We taped dark green trash bags over the windows and had a 1/4 barrel on tap all the way down I 76 to the spectrum...

I mostly listened to rock including black Sabbath, but No MoreTears blew my mind the first time I heard it. I've been listening to heavier and heavier music ever since then. I found the entire show from 3 weeks ago and had to hold back tears a couple times. I didn't realize how much his music affected me until now.

Rodger Bain was partly responsible for much of the early roots of the "heavier" music. He was Sabbaths early bird and worked closely with Judas Priest and Budgie. This song is fitting for Ozzy!

MASTER lyricist.

...and could find incredibly talented guitar players to work with.

Where can I find the show ?

One dude I listened to from my birth to his death.
Basically everything I listen to was birthed from black Sabbath. I still listen to it, love zakk Wylde too and his band black label society.
