I am selling my engine block. I bought this from Bloomer this spring with the intent to build a big *** engine. I have an unexpected opportunity to buy 20 Acres and that's the only reason for selling it. It is a new never used, never machined 340 main engine block ready for someone to build a killer street or race engine. message me with any questions or post them and I'll answer them for everyone. The engine is in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm asking for 3600 obo for this block. Pics are of actual block and details are on the block itself from Ritter. STD 340 main seal system. It has the factory 3.91" and can be bored to 4.25" max.

“Step” as in steps co stepped cam bearings perhaps?

OH! Max bore capabilities would be good to know.

The way and place it's written I believe it may be the 59* lifter bore location he's talking about.
I see that it says that, but since you did t know what “Step” means, I offered a possible solution to it.

Also, what is the max bore capability of this block?

There are no dumb questions. It has a max bore of 4.25" and I was assured it would take a 4.25 stroke as well. 460 cid is possible.
That would be a 482 cid engine.
Any cylinder head up top will still have that acting like a tractor engine —- LMAO!

I’ll drive it!

The W9 will do well. But the truth is, at 482, you can’t get enough head on top. Period.
