I got bitten by the road racing bug with my Chevy 327 911. You can spend 20 minutes driving your Cool car balls out 60-140mph? without law enforcment getting involved!! They usually give 3 or 4 sessions. Taking seat of the pants High speed corners, listening to your monster engine scream down the straights, The feel of G's while taking a corner as fast as the limits of your car. Drag racing is great but lasts for what 10-12seconds. I love them both
There are road race tracks all over and if you go to there calender you will see car clubs that have rented the track for a day. Look the club up on the internet and call them, they would be glad to have you join the event. Most of the clubs can barely afford the track rental-expensive-and are glad to have your $200 bucks.
The car clubs be it CHevy, Ford, Corvette are all the friendliest bunch filled with car enthiusiests. I never get crap just friendly interest.
Its unfortunate you don't see any Mopars but some of you guy's may try it?
Plus I live in ILLINOIS the most corrupt state in the country. How many governors do we have in jail or going? Illinois passed some law that if you are going 30mph over the speed limit your going to jail or they take your car, castrate you, something serious. Plus troopers are writing tickets to pay there salaries the state is so BROKE They say it would take $32,500.00 from every individual in Illinois to balance the budget! Plus they have camera's everywhere and the speed limit up north is 55. (means i can take my mopar to 84 --WEEEEEE)
I dont move back to my KY roots because I have small bus here and i make a little bit of money, but if i could i would!!!

I just looked up that swap. Wow is all I can say I didn't know that could be done. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I've seen that swap a couple of times. Been seeing LS motors in the slope noses, too. (959s?) Wicked little rides is all I can say. Great idea about club track days. Road courses are a hell of a lot of fun.

yes' I have pics on facebook" william thraen"
Renagade Hybreds is were I bought conversion. The 327 weighs the same as the 911 original motor-Yep
When i bought the 911 had original motor but spun bearing on crank. I thought i was going to repair it till I got a load of what it takes $$ wise- Motor was only 160hp anyway.
just a new oil pump was $1200.00 Can't buy one rod only a set for $3500 then pistons and rings??
Seal kit for engine was $800.00
Friend had a built 327 out of a sprint car that he had to sell so i bought the adapter kit
Problem: My 901 porsche trans has a bad main shaft and needs rebiuld-(not strong enough) $8000.00 but kind of a week trans to put that much money in? I need a 930 4 speed trans from the 450hp turbo cars or i have to convert to something different--??? Car drives but wont stand up to the abuse of the track with 901 trans---(Got My Dart) I used a BeCool radiator in front trunk laid at a 45-Purchased a newer 961 turbo nose.
Slope allowed more room for big *** radiator-Love the look i get when i cruise by car guy,s and they hear the distinctive short stroke scream of a 327-- They no right away there is no "Voondeva or Farfrompoopen powering that Porsche 911 USA MUSCLE I have lots of irons in the fire though and will get back to it some day. not going anywhere?? 930 trans are hard to find but out there

Sounds fun.. I have been around road racing since I was a kid... One of the greatest tracks only a few hours from home. I used to road race in SCCA and Karting too. Have fun! How's this for Porsche?:joker:

I agree with you, road racing is a blast! I have a 86 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 that I have ran at riverside and willow springs raceways with the Porsche Club of America. Until you drive the porsche on the track you don't know what that car can do. and as far as the chevy engine in yours, UGH!!!!! Dr. Ferry is rolling in his grave....
