each shaft has a little groove on the end what does this indicate and what torque

Ok the grove faces down and to your left. If you are standing looking into engine bay from the drivers side, the slot should be down and to your left. Same looking in from the other side down and to your left. don't believe torque value you see posted on web. It is more then likely incorrect. 17 foot lbs of torque.
