Has anyone ran the rocker arms on Speedmaster heads? I am looking at a set of them, however I had a set of PRW rockers that appear to be the same design, and they ended up having clearance issues, hitting the valve springs. Just want to make sure before I go through with the purchase. Thanks!

I run the 1.5 I don't know if these are the ones you're talking about. retain kissed the bottom of a few of the rockers but no real problem.I run 400 lbs on the nose springs.so far so good.

B3racingengines.com has your answer.

Do not grind on the rocker. The rocker is NOT the problem. Your geometry is wrong. Fix that and you fix the clearance issue.

That's not the rocker arms fault. That means the rocker shafts need relocating.

Maybe you could use beehive springs?
I use them a lot.
However, it is difficult to get the spring seat pressure below
190/200.

The issue is the valve length and short installed height.
A longer .150 valve fixes it, but it causes Rocker issues.

Sometimes the rockers are just plain made wrong and I had had that issue
with even Harlan Sharp rockers. Most of the techs are totally useless,

It is never easy for us to get clearance with stock production small block
heads and a valve spring of 152/155 or more.

It will take you some time to get your rocker to rocker and rocker to pedestal clearances right don't expect to put them on and everything to line up they do come with a nice set of shims. The sweep on the top of the valve has always been good on my speedmaster heads using those rockers. They're actually a fairly beefy rocker but I do believe the bushing inside is stainless if that matters to you.

You should be able to find a Beehive that will work; there is a large range available now; or the Comp #7228 conical spring. Remember, you need less tension with BHs.

How does the beehive correct the valve train geometry?

He is NOT claiming he has geometry issues; the retainers are hitting the rockers....
