Roller lifters

I'm curious if the roller lifters in an '88-92 318/360 workin older small blocks? In other words, was there a change in the block casting beginning in '88 to accomodate the newer lifters?

The blocks are different. The roller block has taller lifter bores and mounting locations for the lifter hold down spider. The factory lifters use a figure 8 holder that the lifters sit in to keep from spinning, the spider holds these down to keep the lifters in.
You will need lifters with a tie bar if you have a non roller block.

Call Mike at MRL. Best darn lifters I've seen. ONLY ones that worked properly in my non roller LA 360. Using his Pro Sport solid rollers right now.

dog bones.....hold the lifters in their bore...then the spider holds the dog bones.
