This isnt really an issue....yet. but i was wondering if anyone knows the red-line for a 73 318? this may be a stupid qestion, but all i know is.
higher rpms=more heat=more wear= bad.

but if im ever in the situation on the highway like, say a semi jackknife right by me and stuff starts blowin up and flyin everywhere, i wanna know what my limit would be, givin thats a unlikely situationj, i also wanna know where to puit it on my tacho just because.

the cam would be the limiting factor. if its stock it would be done by 5500.maybe even a little sooner.

cam and valve springs usually govern the max RPM for an engine or its rod bolts breaking..... i would spin my 318 7200 rpm it stopped making a difference at about 6500 the rest was pretty much a stress test on the internals.

The 318 falls off at around 4500 to 5000 rpm area though it'll keep spinning and pulling farther.
