Run on Ammo?

-
I wasn't aware of all the Gov demands that some of you have mentioned. I suppose between that, the Zombie Apocalypse crowd (I still don't understand that), the Mayan Calendar scare (I don't get that either), the upcoming election, etc. there seems to be a minor run going on. As another member mentioned, bulk .45 ACP seems to be getting scarcer and more expensive as well. Looks like another gun show trip is in order. There's a company comes here locally for every show that carries very high quality stuff for a super reasonable price.

BTW, I had a .45-70 Marlin Cowboy rifle with a 26" octagon barrel that was ridiculously accurate out to what was paced to be a over a 1/4 mile with the right reload. :) I used jacketed bullets, but the load escapes me and would only be safe in the exact rifle I worked up that load for anyway. I loved that rifle and regret selling it to this day.

I bought a 1000+ rounds today and had to give them my license and a thumb print to buy ammo in LA County in Commiefornia. Can't wait to get back to Montana where I could fill up my pickup bed with ammo and just hand them some cash, no questions asked.

In IL, it's even worse. You have to get a special card (FOID, Firearms Owner Identification Card) to purchase ammo or guns.

Sheesh. I could walk into wally world and pay cash here. They do have to ask for ID to prove a buyer is 18 or over, but they don't write anything down.

I swear I don't even own a .45 but everytime I go to my local range there is TONS of .45 brass all over the place so I pick it up. I get at least the dollar amount of my range visits in used brass every time I go! The only brass the range cares to save is the rifle stuff. It's like a bunch of change just thrown on the ground.

magnumdust,

You see a half-black President and I see half-white. The Jewish rule goes by the mother, probably because one always know who the momma was. I don't know about everyone else, but I always wondered why my boys liked to dress in brown shorts and pretend they were delivering packages. Problem is, many people are stuck on the old "one drop of blood" rule. By that rule, most of us are black because our Jeffersonian ancestors followed the Arnold rule of "if it's there, ...".

I agree that a large number of working and middle class whites have been duped into voting against their own interests. That was the genius of Newt's political strategy, and I watched it develop in Cobb County, GA. Maybe they'll figure it out when all their property is in the hands of a few and the U.S. looks like a Central American country. Hard to pity them since they were motivated by racism and hatred.

I never said i see him as half anything nor do i really care. For the purpose of physical appearances he is black. What race he is mixed with is really irrelevant to me, as is the fact that he's also half black. To me he's just another citizen that became president.

I meant it sarcastically towards the racist people who are seemingly upset at "the black guy" in office.

One of the ranges I go to has a kid sweeping up brass every 5 minutes. I barely have time to pick up my own brass!

Hell yeah, pick that stuff up! Like you say, it's just like loose change thrown around.

Your federal government is buying it up. Homeland Security is buying ammo by the ton. Not to worry. They will not be coming for your guns. They will be coming for you & I.

As far as I know none of us here are survivalists.......be kind of tough to stash an A-body in the woods.

I think you ought to add this to your signature...

"It's kinda tough to stash an A-body in the woods."

just has a ring to it :D

When we moved down from Canada I got into pistols right away. When friends and relatives come down we take them shooting. Pistols, shotguns and SKS - what a blast! Even the ones who are nervous at first get into it very quickly - especially the women, who I might add are some of the best shooters. They always ask to do it again when they come back.

Freedom! Don't let them take it away. Vote!

LOL good one. So the question is? If an a body can not be found. Then is is simply a missing car?

If an A-body revs up in the woods and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Maybe it's the fear of the Trayvon shooting escalating to violence. Just like Rodney Kings deal.

nice editting job to whip up ratings (although they say it was a mistake in editing, I call "Bullshit," that was done to get rating and stir up trouble). How about I photoshop a .45 next to Trayvon's body? About as responsible as painting Zimmerman as a racist.

Any wonder folks are buying ammo? If this **** does blow up, it'll be a dousey!

In Florida, 2 brits were killed in "Pork & Beans" or Overtown neighborhood- for being white and it was about the same time...yet Obama stands there and just address the Martin case ("When I look at my cildren, I see Trayvon Martin" or some such bullshit). Guess he forgot about the 'other' young black guy killing brits who accidentally wandered into the wrong neighborhood and boasting about killing some white folks- must not look like his daughters, eh? In the UK, that single move pissed alot of brits off and rightfully so...It's all so stupid

Damn, I have all this ammo and all my guns ended up in the bottom of a lake when my canoe capsized a couple years ago.
