I am putting a 75 V8 motor an auto into a 72 dart, the rod that goes from the column to what I call the shifter bell crank, is to long I think? Are the rods from a S/6 to a V8 different?

75 year A-Body 904 /6 or V-8 use a different torque shaft, trans rod and column rod than a 72, the frame and trans mount brackets for the 904 do interchange from 67-76. 74 up uses a different design/method to mount the rods, to the torque shaft, steering column and trans lever, they use a small hard plastic bushing rather then like the 73 back rods that have a larger fixed end on the rods which use washers and a pin not plastic bushings where the rods connect to the column, trans lever or the bellcrank
