I need something better than a pizza box to keep my valves, springs, keepers, shims, etc in the right order while tearing down, cleaning, up and rebuilding my heads. The black Crane tray looks like it should do what I need and it is cheap enough. Sub-$25 works for me. Any reason to go with the red versions that are 50% more money? I don't mind doing a DIY if it won't take me a week to put together so am open to suggestions on that path too.

This one was cheap and effective.

2 2×4 a foot long stacked with 7/16 holes drilled partway thru. Put springs/retainers over hole than valve in hole. Locks, bag them.

buy set of aluminum heads to put em on
sure, it will cost a little more up front, but you'll thank me for it later

Sorry but what does the head have to do with it? For the record I’m working on aluminum heads.

well, you want somewhere to keep your valvetrain while you clean the heads, right?
what better place to keep it then on a set of heads?

(i wasnt being to serious, but yeah)

I use a 2x4 with holes drilled for valves and I just spear the springs and retainer with the valve. Button magnets in the bottom of a 3/4" hole for the retainers.
