Scamp thread

I actually got it in a trade from another member already that combo. I love it that way my self.

Do you know what model of car the orange is off of? I think I already picked my color. I had a 2005 or 06 Mazda 3 that was a burnt orange color in my shop a few years ago and the color has stuck in my head. I think the burnt orange with a black tail stripe, black hood and painted bumpers will look sharp on my 71.

I'm not 100% sure but Dodge did this color a few years ago on the Daytona trucks and Charger Daytona's I think around '06ish. But I think it would look awesome on your '71 also.

I know I have not been on in awhile, but just wanted to give a little update:

New (to me) 14 x 5.5 SBP wheels (thanks MOBodyman) powder coated black, with 215/70/14 tires (tire rack) all around.

Also went with 2 1/4 exhaust from the header back with a 26" glasspack to give it a little rumble.

Still looking for a few here and there parts for the interior and exterior, but just really enjoyed driving it till the water pump went and took a dump on me.... that's next!

It was a tad too cold for a photo op w/ owner. As soon as I finish the engine, I'm told that's what happens.

I think I should buy a good camera this month.

Still,in a continual state of disarray. Hoping the fire the new cam and heads soon......

'72? I've seen the pic before, but had no idea it was a Plymouth until I looked closely at the grille. Bad ***. If it's O/G Sassy Grass, it's got to be a '71. In the same boat as you on the engine.

Love scamps, but have yet to see one in person :(

Come to Denver.

Wouldn't you like to catch the prick who shot that $5500 blue scamp full of holes!!! Why on earth? Must have been some kind of payback or vandals or something???

Don't buy these;

I'd love to, but no money to travel

I got bored. Time to revive this thread!

Depends where you live. The first Scamp I ever saw was in a wheels and deals magazine when I was 16 (3 years ago). We went and looked at it and bought it. That was the first time I'd ever heard of a Scamp. I sold the car last January (still miss it). Since then I've only ever seen one and that was just a few weeks ago. I've also only ever seen 3 Dusters

I'm happy many do not know of them, It's how I was able to pick up mine at a decent price.

Yea but it sucks when you go to sell. I bit the bullet on mine. Wish I coulda kept it but marrying the sweetest girl I ever met held a higher priority :D

Step one: Thanks Kegan, for starting the damn thread.
Step two: Bonds,Dave Bonds...

Actually a faded single stage Martin Senour. The solid colored single stage catalyst enamels ,always have the most vibrant topcoats, compared to B.C/C.C. Yes,the maintence is higher, can't complain there. It's gonna get hammered on,why spend more money?...

Good time for pic whoring!

How we found her, getting beat and street raced on by some kids in north LA:

She's a factory 318/904/7.25 car. Still has the original engine. No 340, but it does "run out with a lot of extra power"

Waiting to go on the boat:

Brought it back to Australia, gave it a quick paintjob, some interior work, brand new suspension, disc brake conversion, new carb, new bumpers, set of wheels etc. Aiming for a genuine 80's street racer vibe.

She came with a Dart rear bumper. Which is weird - no sign of accident damage underneath.

Next job is to build the Ford 9" i've got sitting on the bench - have collected a truetrac LSD centre, a set of 3.5 gears, good 11" Ford brakes and a Mopar Performance offset shackle kit. Will make the diff .8 of an inch shorter than factory, plus the .8 of the MP offset, should easily get a 275 tyre in there. Currently 245.

After that, i'll build a motor. Probably 2015 though.
