I have talked to many of the regulars in the chat room about my job and have told them about working on my bosses spring cars...
I didn't get to see it happen and didnt find out until a coworker told me yesterday at a car show, but Scott Bonnell, my boss and family friend, got into a big wreck at Little Valley speedway in new york on saturday.
To make long story short, he came around the corner with nowhere to go, car got launched an he went for a ride. His back is broken, 2 vertebrae. Needless to say he's quitting racing. He has a wife and two sons and decided enough was enough.
He was up and moving I guess and is going to be able to walk and everything just fine. I never got the chance to see him race but he's a great guy and the equipment was amazing stuff. (4 rolling chassis, 3 engines, and 2 more frames hanging from the ceiling of the shop)
Anyway, even with all of the safety equipment in the world, it's amazing how this stuff seems to still happen.
I don't know what the purpose of this post really was... or why anybody would care about my boss getting into an accident, but I thought i would share the news either way. We're hoping for a speedy recovery from him.
