power nothin, all there except the cable for go gears, and throttle rod assemply. trying to decide which way to go on my pitiful budget! LOL i have 65 dart GT /6 car i've been building, would like to go v8 with this. wondering: i don't want to lose the pushbuttons, are the cable operated TF for SB fairly easy to find? and economical? don't want to bang on firewall, i've read on here ya can shil up the height of engine a little and not have dist/firewall problem? or do what i rathr have, is B motor. if i have to pay $250 or soo for cable to operate later TF, i rather change over and put that toward stick. but again, long tailshaft 4 speed won't work without butchering floor????
question: what yrs pedals interchange? i can handle fab work on Z bar, (yes, i known Wayne Brewer for years and he can fix me up! ) LOL then again i do enjoy the old slants. black car, red buckets, it will wind up rust repairs and painted John Deere equipment enamel satin black and dive anywhere without worrying about some nimrod scratching it! LOL also. if any wealthy types out there that would like to send contribution to this build, , mail me for address. tax deductble! LOL thanks for any insight.

Sounds like a cool score; however, :worthles:

Congratulations!

Why not rob the 65 GT floor shifter, tranny and motor out the 65 GT and put it all in 63 GT .
Then you can v8 on the 65.
Would like to see pics of both !!!

hey i just got it fri after dark, todays ssun and its been a blizzard all day!! spent all day sat geting everything from firewood, to groceries, get stoch ready for wind chill comong of minus 40 ! LOL and its headed your way ohio and il guys!!!! temp is plus 6 headed south!! LOL i will get pics soon as feasible, it sits under open shed! LOL
actually , i can't recall, i had some 64 or 5 b bodies with pushbuttton but don't recall if 361 or poly 318, can't recall trivia of when poly 318 went and 273 arived or 361 and 383. if i stay with cable b motor, what years in B body? i know a body 273 was rod actuated if not mistaken, i will get pics soon. its pretty typically rough, no creme puff.

TXDART: i'm typical Mopar guy, never happy with only one car. at least 2 maybe 3-4. its a disease. spent too much time piecing the 65 dart back together, it was bigger tur_ than the 63!! LOL

Hello Barbee 6043
I can look around, as I might know of a slant six cable operated 904 trans around up here in Omaha. All the poly head 318's had a 727 cable operated until 66, so that won't work. However, all the 273 auto's in an A body were cable 904, just like the slant six, although not Interchangeable. I have a 65' 273 four speed GT, and a 1966 GT with the slant six auto. However, all mopars switched to the rod actuated transmissions In 1966. any pre 66 slant six auto will work for you but any 64-65 B body 273 had a cable operated 727. I have one of those, but the dart won't let it in!

what i am wanting to do is drop in a v 8, 273, poly 318, 361, or 383, last choice is put back the slant, got that in my 65 dart and would like to get v8 in this. sooo, the 65 dart 273 auto were all cable shift??? the 65 dart 273 was cable type throttle instead of rod type?? but had the cable trany???? the sb will mount to 63-6 /6 k member, b motor can be fitted too, in the 63 dart there are some fitment problems to deal with, but not that great. let me know what you might find in v 8 motors with cable operated trannys in your Ne mopar world, thanks

I'm pretty sure the pushbutton parts can be swapped into later 904s. I would talk to TorqueFlite Patty about the specifics.
The '65 904s were dual cable operated just like the '64s, just the shifter controls up top were changed.
The 273 came in with the '64 Darts. Seems like I read somewhere that creative shimming would keep the dizzy
away from the '63 firewall, though most folks seem to modify them.

thanks Brad4406 for posting these pics for me. not the greatest, but here in s w Missouri like most everywhere it was pretty cold that day (record high and low LOL!) and still can't get to the road. anyone with 63 dart or good knowledge willing to share details of s b or b motor transplant . let me know. i might very well drop in a slant, have no problem with that either. i
i started to take pics of what was under back seat but i almost lost my lunch just thinkin bout it!! LOL

there are 2 more of these beasts pretty nice c ars been for sale quite a while, but why do things the easy way!?? LOL, one 50 mi down the road other 6 hrs away, beleive me, if i had the $$ i can find some cars i'd love to have and pretty well much the price. SOooo, when will the medical profession proclaim this as an illness and i can be medicated! ( sniffing ATF does no good!) LOL

hey RustyRatRod: still lookin everywhere for any info for engine awaps for the 63 dart, you said drop in 383, is that in your car? or do you know how it would clear firewall or have to get rid of wiper motor hump? seems i saw somewhere B and E maniforld for left side easy and c body for right side? what for motor mounts and brackets.
bout '95 had / 64 savoy, changed it over to 440 4spd, changed k member, seemed like pretty tight on right side in it if i remember. course factory put maxy starting in 62 b body.
want to decide which way to go, don't want to change firewall for SB.the maket people ask. guy told me of pretty decent 64 savoy he sold to guy thats for sale again, 413, askin $4000, thats what i sold mine in (5 or 6 for, still needin paint and int work but all mechanicals done. LOL

The low deck fits good with no firewall mods. Schumacher makes the mounts. Actually, the 68-69 Hp B body mounts fit the best.

thanks 64 RagTop i will try to check with the c/l guy for info,
RustrRatRod, thanks for the info, i really would like to try the 383 swap, like stock mounts (could spend the Schumaker $250 mount money elsewhere!!). somewhere in my search on these sites, i saw someone talking about using combo of B and C hp manifolds, but milling off like 1/8 in off right exh surface to change angle?? tried to find it again but no luck, found it either here or slantsix.org
would like to change over to 4 spreed if room for Z bar and stock type exhaust, i will contact Schumaker and see what they might say, their $1000 headers ain't on my plate either LOL
yea i know, put the slant in this 63 and pick up 62-5 B body for the big block! thanks for any input.
