Be carefull and watch those little ones, their hands, and the doors. :banghead:
Just went through a tramatic week here.

My 2 yr old grandson got his fingers in his mothers car door, luckily their was enough room in the weather strip so it wasn't too bad. I had mine slammed in the door of a 51 olds years ago, I can still remember how that felt.

Caught mine in a car door when I was about 25. It cut through the tendons across the top of one finger, broke part of the knuckle, had orthopaedic surgery to pin the bone together again, but the tendons never recovered and the knuckle calcified. Doesn't bend to this day, but only hurts when I bang that knucke real hard.

On the other hand, State Farm car insurance paid all medical bills, plus 80% of lost wages for the 4 weeks I was off of work.

I hope the kid is okay???

I'm sorry, guess I just assumed everything ended well. I too hope your youngster is OK!

She cut most of the top of her finger off, right below her her finger nail, but just above the knuckle. Very little holding it on. I can still see it happening in my mind, It was horrible.
They did surgery on friday morning to reattach everything.
I just wish it had happened to me and not my baby.

I cringe hearing things like this to little ones! My wife says I'm not allowed in the emergency room if our girl's find themselves there again. I get over emotional and want to do bodily harm to the physicians if they make my kids wince or cry while attending to the (for the better of my kids). I just hate seeing them in pain.

I hope you child heals well.

On another note to my own experience, when I was about 13 my brother was helping put stereo equipment in his friend's 68 Chevelle. They were trying to decide which set of 6x9's to put in the truck so they asked me to hold one up to see how it sounded. I climbed in the trunk to hold the speaker up to the back deck and they shut the trunk lid for better sound. Well, my fingers were in the area where the truck lid arm lays against the steel rail and smashed the tip of my left ring finger and pinned it there. I was screaming! They couldn't find the keys for the trunk to open it. Finally they found it , got me out, and they finished working on that dang chevy by themselves that day! I lost the fingernail that night. End of story.

Yeah, you always hate to hear about the kids getting hurt, even when they're older. My sister put her hand through a window when she was 4. Nearly died it cut her wrist so bad.

I hope your child heels completely, fully and quickly.
