I'm searching information on 1965 Dodge Dart Charger 273. They were sold from late September of 1964 to mid 1965 in California only. All of these cars were assembled at the Los Angeles plant.
I'm very interested to get in contact with people who sold them, served them etc.
Also looking for any sales related information on these cars. Specific order documents for these cars would ve very interesting.
Enclosed is an add from Oct 31st of 1964 from Los Angeles Herald. At the bottom are all the dealers in southern California who sold them.
Thanks FABO for any help.

Hello
I am an owner of a 1965 Dodge Dart GT Charger. My father was the original owner he and I work on cars together. This car was purchased from Anaheim Dodge. As far as we know we have the only Silver Dart Charger produced. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Awesome! I need to dig into the numbers! I have never seen a silver Dart ever. Your car was assembled exactly one month befor the 1965 car production stopped.

My name is Earl.
My dad says that when he was making the purchase he test drove a cream yellow Dart Charger but just didn't like the color at Brookhurst Dodge that had 16 dart chargers. He went to Anaheim Dodge they also had 16 Dart Chargers. However 1 was silver. He has always thought that the 1 silver car was put together to fill Anaheim and Brookhurst Dodges 32 car order.

Does the car have the fender badges and the instrument panel badge? Any pictures would be great.

No badges at all none. The only badges that this car came with is the charger 273 4 barrel that is on the air cleaner. The badges you are referencing to where not manufacture decals those where added by the dealerships. My dad was offered the decal package at purchase but declined. Pluse we are not a chrome it car family.lol Nowadays the only chrome on the car is the hood emblems bumper and door handles. I will send circa 1965 pictures.

The 273 Charger plate on the air cleaner was standard on all 273 HP engines for Dodge. All factory yellow painted Dart Chargers had fender badges and one badge on the instrument panel. However all Dart Charger "kit cars" got all the badges and evetually the Cragar wheels in a package thru the dealership. They added it and then sold it. But out of the 300 kit cars six has been counted for!

Okay
How many hi po 273 Charger equipped Darts with 4 speeds did they produce.

In 1965 they produced 15090 Dart GTs with V8. Out of those cars 5631 Dart GTs had the 273 Charger option. 2492 Dart GTs had the floor shifted 4-speed and 3074 Dart GTs had the three speed Torqueflite transmission. But there were 65 Dart GTs with 273 Charger option with three on the tree! Got to be a rare one!
