i have a 1973 dodge dart with front bench seats. I’m looking for the wire that goes from one side to the other. I think it’s called the seat release wire. If anyone has one I would gladly purchase it from them. I will also pay shipping.

Hi John,

If you don't find one here, try this as a solution.

Its a cable made for Nova's and other GM A-Bodies with bench seats. Should work the same and it is adjustable.

Get it at Classic Industries.

My '69 buckets have a .043 diameter wire. I'm thinking its music wire, but not sure. Springs are made from different materials so the wire can be bent to some degree.


Maybe you can get an idea what they look like from pictures..........

Front bench seat adjuster not working

I have a 71 Dart Swinger with the lovely front bench seat. I'm 6'1 and I'd really really like to get the seat adjusted as far back as I can. When I pull on the adjuster I can get the driver's side track moving, but the passenger side isn't releasing. I reached under the seat and found a wire...

Its called either music wire or sometimes piano wire. I keep a roll around for stuff like this. Its very hard and does not stretch.
