Adam made a suggestion and I agree with him 100%, that I hold off on listing more auction items until the first batch is done with. I will let you all know there are about 20 more items already. So, if you didn't see anything you wanted in the first batch, don't feel left out. A couple of the items for the next batch are, a gift certificate from Phoenix Specialty Coatings and an 8 3/4 center section. As a matter of fact the second batch may very well be better than the first batch.
I thank you all for your support in this endeavour.

Jack

I would like to take this opportunity to let you great bunch of people know how very much this huge surprise is appreciated at this time. A little update from the rehab centre; 101 days and counting the third tentative discharcge date was to be May 16th has now been changed to May 30th. I have yet to conquer the steps, get feeling back in the rest of my leg, arm and foot, and get movement back in my right hand. Hopefully it happens so I can get back to work and my dart project can continue. It looks like it will probably be a year before they will know if use will return to my arm and hand so just wait and see, but the suspense is killing me. Thank once again every one I am so thankful for the great family I have here your the best!

Jack, not to be pushy or anything LOL, but when is the second batch of items going on the block?

P.S. Congrats on your new Gold Member status!!!

I'm sorry for the delay everybody. I havn't had much time to get at the second auction. I will do it this weekend though. Here are some of the reasons, not excuses.
Anniversary
Broken truck
Brothers broken truck (read build engine for him)
Just plain tired
And last but not least, wrapping up first auction.

Thanks for everybodies patience.

Jack

Oh yeah, did I mention I work 9 1/2 hours a day. LOL

Don't rush yourself on our behalf. If we pull our hair out while waiting, I don't think we'd fully blame you. Partially, but not fully.

Wow I was getting tired just reading your list! You must be a high energy guy Jack. You are to be commended for your work on the auction regardless of how long it takes.....looks like a pretty big job you took on with the auction for your local Bud Marvin. And Marvin hope this next year flies by for you with outstanding results:cheers: keep posting and letting us know how you're doing, and we'll all keep cheering for you:cheers: best wishes from B.C.

Jack is an outstanding guy! I still can't believe him him and all you great memers are going through all of this for me. I hope to be able to pay it forward in acts of kindness in the future when I get back on my feet in all sense of the term. Just to fill you all in, things are extremely busy for me lately. I am supposed to be out in a little under two weeks. I have to gets an eye exam as my eyes got quite a bit worse, I have to get my leg cast for a brace, get an advanced MRI, order a wheel chair, walk with the nurses a minimum of 50 metres twice a day and any other time one is free that I am not in Physio or occupational therapy which is a big portion of the day they are running me ragged but I am glad to finally be getting out. It has been a long 41/2 months. God Bless you all, and I will be at atlantic national just let me know what day....70dart...Marvin Peacock...:notworth:

Marvin, I'm happy to learn things are going better for you and that your hospitalization is soon coming to an end. I'm compelled to share a bit of personal history in response to one sentence of your post.

I'm not sure how many of you know my story, but Billy and I were Hurricane Katrina victims on August 29, 2005. We weren't those people you saw on tv stranded on our roof in the flooding waiting to be saved ... we lived 25 miles west of New Orleans and our house (built in 1891), restoration shop, and pretty much everything we own got wiped out by two tornadoes in the span of about ten minutes. It was an experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Since our house was destroyed, we had to move in with Billy's parents while waiting for the limited insurance to come through. The rather prestigious law firm I worked for relocated from 20 miles away from home to 75, and my 83 Mustang daily driver was damaged beyond driveability. Since I couldn't get to work, I lost my job on September 13. Unemployment was measely to say the least. We ultimately lived with his folks for thirteen months. [Incidentally, that's why my business is named Phoenix Specialty Coatings. We're still "rising from the ashes" of Katrina and trying our best to get back on our feet in a new place now. We still have no furniture to speak of, and times are still VERY hard, but we're alive with the physical ability to start over. Anyway ....]

A guy in the Barracuda Owners Group from Oregon (a good friend, and the ONLY person I could get ahold of on my cell immediately after the hurricane since the local phones were all out) not only telephoned my parents in Colorado and my daughter in California to let them know we survived, but also put the word out to the BOG membership and told them what had happened to us. With no computer access, I didn't know anything about his announcement for almost a month.

Those BOG members -- people I didn't know personally and who were, for the most part, only words on a computer screen -- donated a total of $1300 in cash to help us out.

As I sit here typing this, reliving these memories, and with tears streaming down my cheeks almost three friggin' years after the fact, it still warms my heart and soul to realize that there are people out there who truly care about other human beings and are willing to go above and beyond to let them know they aren't alone in their time of personal crisis.

That, my friend, is mainly why I'm participating in Jack's auction on your behalf. In a way, I've been there and know what you're going through.

It won't be an easy road you're traveling right now, but rest assured you have friends out there that you don't know who are happy to help you if they can. Sadly, I'm not in a position to donate monetarily, but I can donate my time, my materials, and my talent. Under the circumstances, it's the very least I can do, and I wish it could be more.

PAY IT FORWARD.

That wasn't Dana by any chance, was it? I was a member on the BOG years ago and got along with Dana (BLUFISH was his name I think...) nicely. Some of the other hooligans were a bit much... but Dana was cool. I could see him and his wife Anastasia getting behind your cause.

Glad to see your back on track... I had no idea that you were devasted by Katrina.

Yes, John ... it was Dana Price. He's been nwcudaman for as long as I can remember. I've never once talked with his wife Stacey, but he's a great guy and to this day is still a dear friend. Life would be different -- and much worse -- without him in my life.

You should revisit the BOG again. It's changed a lot for the better and the former uhhhhhhhhhhh disharmony is no longer there.

Leanna I am slowly coming to the realization that I am going to be pretty useless for quite a while yet. But it is great knowing what a great bunch of members we have here always ready to chip in when things are not the best. I want you to all know that I will always do my best to return the favor when things return to some sort of normal for me. I am glad things are a little better for you now and hope they get even better for you and your business continues to grow for you, rock on Leanna!:happy6:
