Sending unit ground strap

-
It's really pretty simple. there is a short piece of rubber fuel line that connects between the fuel sender and the main fuel line running to the front. One end of the strap snaps over the metal fuel line coming out of the sender and the other end snaps over the main fuel line. The purpose of the strap is to maintain the electrical continuity of the fuel line since the fuel line is used as a ground for the sending unit. It bridges the electrical gap caused by the rubber line. Make sure the fuel line is clean and shiny where the strap snaps on. Hope this helps.

Here ya go Alan...
Basically, the ground strap has to jump the gap from the sending unit to the hard metal fuel line heading up front to the fuel pump - bridging over the short segment of rubber line.
