Sending unit locations?

My 340 block has a stripped oil sending unit hole, Id like to move the sending unit elsewhere, to avoid metal shavings ending up in the block, I capped it off for now but plan to make this car a weekend driver again. What other location is suitable for the oil sending unit. Thanks Eric Atlanta Texas

If the threads are stripped how did you cap it off?

He used JB Weld and Pixie dust.

Oil pressure can be found at the oil filter. Ref the MP engines book.

Pull the cap and fill the oil galley with dino grease or Vaseline. Slowly run a tap to get the threads deeper in the bore. Prime the oil system to remove grease and shavings.

does your car have a right angle oil filter adapter?
that would be a great spot to tap into it
or just get a sandwich plate
