thanks alot!!! heres my last one it is a GTO that i "kit bashed" with a shelby cobra. ive had both models sitting around unfinished for like 10 years, both with missing parts. this is the first time i tried my hand at scratch building too, chop top, 4 link, independent rear, bumpers interior etc.. the list goes on. i think most of you will be able to tell lol. im happy overall but i do wish the body paint looked better. im also going to be starting a 49 merc this week.

hey shafer any hint on making it so that candy paint stays right? as i said before everytime i use it it either a)stays "gummy" or b) flakes off after it dries.

'kay. anyone else?

You might check out Auto Air Colors

They have a lot of cool colors for air brush's (candies, flake, color shift, special FX and more)
The paint comes out flat and then you can clear it with any clear that you want (even rattle can clear) and then the color comes out
make sure you follow direction closely and remember less is better
I painted my Honda shadow tank Candy Black and clear coated it with rattle can and it looked nice until some gasoline got spilled on it.

good info but unfortunately i dont have an airbrush and i also dont have the cash to buy one right now. the candies that ive used have been testors spray can candies with a testors silver undercoat.

The problem is the silver undercoat doesn't provide good adhesion for the top coat - scuff the surface of the silver undercoat with some fine steel wool before applying the color coat.
