So i put the tf2 kit into my 904 a while ago and it sat till i got the front end and brakes sorted. I am just now to a point where i can drive it a bit...im 100% positive i have full throttle and TV set to all the way back at full throttle.
Regardless of throttle position...my auto shifts happen about 2500-2800.
There is no overlap...both shifts are crisp.
Thoughts?

I have the lokar HD 2 screw bracket...
I adjusted the throttle to achieve wide open... then disconnected it.
Manually open the throttle to WOT and block it open.
Loosen TV cable adjuster at carb end... with a pair of needle nose vise grips holding the end of the cable i pull it tight while watching between the header to verify its at the end of its travel... tighten the adjuster...then with it still blocked at WOT..reach up from underneath to be certain it is at the end of its travel.
Remove blocking, reattach throttle cable...roadtest.
I have done it 2 ways...tight.. and also leaving about ¹/16th loose. No difference.

I started thinking i may need to readjust the PR screw. I had it set to the spring retainer just flush with the cage... maybe it needs a turn or 2 towards "race only"..

So just to be clear, are you saying it shifts too late at light throttle, or too early at heavy throttle?

Regardless of throttle position...normal/WOT/grandma....
1-2 and 2-3 shift happens at less than 3000 rpm.
And yes it will downshift with foot on floor.

Ok, it sounds like a battle between your governor and throttle pressure.
See if you can back off the throttle pressure and if it can shift earlier at low throttle.
If so, then the governor can be swapped out for one with higher shift points and not raise the light throttle shift points.
You did adjust the Allen pressure valve spring screw as your TF2 kit instructions instruct, right?

Yes to that too..lol

On very light throttle it shifts a little earlier...like 12 mph and about 25.
