Shift rods interchange from ITM to Hurst???

I picked an ITM 4-spd shifter and shift rods from a 75 Duster 833OD. Knowing the ITM is less desirable, but these factory rods are really nice - clean/smooth and shifted well. Will these rods work for an A-body Hurst shifter?

I have not tried but was told they are different. The OD also takes different levers on the trans.
