Is that the best way to clean up the heads before I send them to the machine shop? I've already removed the valves and springs.

Thanks

I thought they would bead blast them there as part of their service.
If you do, don't touch any of the machined surfaces.

If their not rusty the chemical bath will clean them up just fine. If their very rusty the chemical bath doesn't clean them up very good so they'll need to be bead blasted first. I don't know of any machine shop that bead blasts them as part of the clean up procedure. Every one I've done they charged extra if they needed blasted. If you do blast them don't do the block or intake side.

Thanks everyone, guess I'll let the shop (as soon as I find a good one) take care of them.
