Shoutout to Alberta Plating

Just got my front bumper back for my 70 Swinger from Alberta Plating in Calgary Alberta and it looks fantastic, the guys did a great job and even threw in some chrome carriage bolts at no extra charge. The last pic looks kind of strange at first until I realized that its the reflection of my OSB ceiling in the chrome
Chroming aint cheap, and it dont get ya home, but it sure is purdy

Nice. I ended up buying new AMD bumpers as my cores were bent up. What does rechroming cost these days? I remember getting it done in Edmonton for around $250-$300 lol That was 20 years ago.

I considered new ones too, but AC did it for basically the same cost as a repo, so I figured might as well stick with my original steel cause I know it fits and is probably better(heavier) steel too. I got a quote of 750 for the front, and 850 for the back, mine are in pretty good shape though.
I remember years ago and I restored a 70 Monte Carlo and chroming cost about 250 bucks apiece as well. All chrome shops have closed here except for one and they dont do decorative chrome anymore, only industrial hard chrome.
Myself and my wife did a one day trip to Calgary and back to Saskatoon yesterday to pick up the bumper and a new AMD windshield and door glass at Classic Performance, 12 hours of driving. As a bonus though, I found a can of discontinued Eastwood Brake Grey paint at Classic, been looking all over for a can with no luck, Carmine told me that they just found a couple of cans while going through old stock, lucky me! Realized after we were back on the highway that I should have bought both cans...dang

Stay away from vans auto llc on ebay. His price may be a little cheaper but he's selling used/returned garbage.
