bought this 273 HiPo 4 Speed factory console car for $125 with spun bearing and the front hit. My sister had totaled her 67 so had all the parts for the front to fix that damage and guy I worked with totaled his 72 340 4 speed duster and got the drivetrain and interior out of it for this car. Wish I had kept the seats and engine I took out of it.

Wow MyCuda! Very nice fish made even nicer given you and your son did it together. A very special bond that you two have now, and forever.

Love to see more pics and details on the build...

Hi, Thanks.
Project started about 20 years ago. 3kids no money scenario.

The square tubing under hood is to support fender well because of holes/headers
Ill get some better close up pics when I visit car in storage.

Hood is fabricated from 1/2" welded electrical conduit frame mended to fit hood jamb.
Mesh top is 3/4" diamond shaped 22 gauge mild steel. (32 hours labor)
Ive seen similar ideas using an existing hood as a base frame, but that's cheating!
My reason for doing this was for 3 reasons:

1- Cooling down 413 Big Block w/fenderwell headers!

2- Not cutting up original hood for tunnel ram set up!

3- Havent seen one, cant buy one(yet), Cool looking!
