Purple haze....Here is a car that was/is? for sale out on west coast in Washington a couple years ago. The guy did a very nice job restoring the car and documented on the net somewhere.. Is a 4 spd small block, the motor was professionally built to around 450HP.

The only reason I did not pursue buying the car and the owner was up front with me on the phone about it) is that the guy who painted the car sprayed the doors a different time than the rest of the car and they ended up being a sllightly different shade of purple. He also was asking top dollar.

So as much as I want a nice, restored, 4spd, purple 2nd gen, I passed on it. About a two months ago I saw it was still for sale.
