Owned my 67 Valiant since the late 80s. Best times were low nines, but sold that super duper motor because of the safety add-ons I had to do to run in the 9s, decided the 10s were a good place to stay. most consistently ran the 10.90 heads up bracket or 10.01-11.99 bracket. Getting ready for shipment from Alaska to Hawaii, a muscle motors "street killer" motor is slated for the engine bay now. The motor that lasted the longest was from 1992-1998, literally thousands of passes, 10.53 best ever, usual dial in 10.90, stock block, 906 heads ported using "porting templates" huge solid cam, roller rockers, stock block, 440 industrial block. When it blew the motor in 98, I had a stage six head 500ci motor that pumped it into the 9s, ran that like three weekends, sold the motor, didn't race again since 2001.

Bottom pic was 1996 at cambell raceway in Hawaii, the "Alaska vs Hawaii" presidents day races. Great fun. The pic on top is as it sat getting ready to be barged over to Hawaii last week.

I'm resurrecting an old thread, wondering if anyone has any new slant 6 A bodies since 2021.

Here's my '71 slant six Demon, which is going back to 100% stock when done.

This car is one of four slant 6 Demons on this website since it started in 2004 that will stay correct. The Carlisle Chrysler car show had only one slant six Demon in 2024 and 2025. In the future, this will be the second....

And look, no hood scoops....

Nice to know the history. Thanks !
Right now I have a 72 Dart Swinger Slant factory air to do. I had a guy that wanted to give me a 318 Magnum for free.
Thanks but I'll keep it a six.

Back about 2005, I had a slant Demon, butterscotch col auto, it had a rebuilt slant I had bought off a friend, I rebuilt all the brakes and did all the rust repair, I daily drove it 30 mi every day. It came out of Arkansas with a woreout slant. I needed the $ out of it, priced it at $3500, took me 6-7 months to get it sold. I was not coming down on the price. I loved that car! This was before FB Market Place was taken over by over priced junk and idiots in general..Bought by a couple out of Ks. that they already owned a slant Demon. Wanted a companion. I always felt a Demon was worth some more than a Duster. You will see 20 Dusters for every 1 Demon!

hello,
here is my 67 Valiant. right hand drive in Australia.comes with all the things some of you wo'nt like, such as black engine bay and seats from another brand (Toyota Camry in this case).
however, it is still a slant powered Valiant -and I like it.
as it was prepared for a specific road rally here in 2006,it has 4 point harness belts, anchored to the rear parcel tray, and the rear seat is removed. so it is a 2 seater.
electronic ignition,6 into 1 headers,2 barrel Carter and the original 3 speed manual gearbox.

regards,Rod:D
